History

Euro Gas Systems was founded in January 2010. Since then besides the fact of building and delivering PED or ASME certified pressure vessels to our customers; the main activity was to develop and fabricate gas compressor packages. The block-modular compressor station has two Ariel JGP/1 single cylinder, single stage compressors driven by variable speed controlled 37 kW ABB motors for the purpose of providing 76 BarA seal gas to downstream centrifugal compressors. The compressors are in a heated and ventilated enclosure and they are monitored and controlled by a Siemens S7 300 series PLC based control panel located in a separate non-hazardous area enclosure.

Natural gas, at low pressure goes through the suction scrubber, here gets a whirling ascending circulation due to deflector mounted inside, then the gas passes through a mist pad which remove liquids from the gas. From the suction scrubber, the clean natural gas enters into the suction bottles. The single gas compression stage is made by two 5.5 inch cylinders. The compressed gas exits the compressor cylinders in the discharge bottles. The gas enters in the air cooler from where exits with a maximum temperature of 52°C.

The gas cooler is placed outside the enclosure and driven by a separate electric motor. Nearby the main enclosure a second smaller enclosure is found for the Unit Control Panel and the Motor Control Center for each of the two compressing units.

Euro Gas Systems will build, deliver and install six gas compressing units for MOL Hungary. These units will act as well heads, to run in remote open fields. Each one will have a top cover for bad weather conditions (snow or rain). Major electrical components on the engine are ATEX certified by the manufacturer for zone 2 hazardous area. A two cylinders, one stage reciprocating compressor will be used. Coupling between engine and compressor shaft will be aligned with dedicated instruments to ensure that it will not heat up during operation.

This Sertco fuel gas booster compressor was built to raise the pressure of the gas coming from the national pipeline supplier.

The SR EN ISO 13631 compressor packages delivered to the Sarmasel compressor station are intended to store and withdraw the gas from an underground reservoir. Four units have been considered in order to move 6.000.000 Nm3/day/compressor station. The units ware equipped with 64" suction scrubbers because of the large gas quantity. These scrubbers ware build in house by EGS following PED regulations and EN 13445 standard.

Unit is driven by internal combustion engine from Waukesha with 16 cylinders. The control panel used for monitorization and control will be placed off-skid and will have programmable capabilities. User interface is made with a touch panel. Communication with upper station can be realized through Ethernet, optical fiber or the RS-485 port.

Ten identical compressor units are designed to operate on a wide range of suction pressures and flow. The package has been built under a roof, and has removable sidewalls that will allow access if maintenance or repair works is needed. These units easily transported from one site to another.

This compressor package was designed for manual operation. The lubricated Cameron CFA34 compressor is driven by a 315kW motor that can operate from 900 to 1800RPM due the supplied VFD. Suction pressure is adjusted from a suction pressure controller. The clean natural gas enters the suction scrubber and then goes to the first stage suction header and further to the first compressor cylinder. Three stages are used to raise the gas pressure to 60bara. After the final compressing stage, the gas is cooled by the heat exchanger.

Euro Gas Systems worked together with GTC Force to deliver this compressor to Dzikow site in Poland. The unit was designed so it can work in two stage mode but also in single stage operation. All devices, equipment, instruments are in accordance with PED and suitable for explosion hazardous areas. Most of the package components (cooler, oil, process valves, flow meters, control panel, MCC, instrumentations) were added to package by GTC Force in Poland.

First screw units that were packaged by EGS were for this Romgaz project. After winning the tender EGS started packing four Sullair DC2512 and three Sullair DC2517 screw compressors, each driven by a Caterpillar CG137-8 engine. Every unit had to be placed inside an enclosure with lightning protection. Robust walls can handle sever weather conditions and will allow access for maintenance and repair works.

Provided control panel is equipped with redundant ControlLogix and redundant I/O racks. IS barriers ware provided in the control panel (for use of Ex-i instrumentation).

Three compressor units have been awarded to EGS after winning the tender of Koscian project in Poland. Award was made based on price and delivery time. Suction pressure from 2.5 bara will be raised to 64bara with an Ariel JGK4 compressor driven by a Waukesha L7044GSI engine. The engine is rated at 1253KW for its maximum speed of 1200RPM. This is the first project where the gas coolers have been designed and fabricated in-house by EGS in order to lower the overall package cost.

OMV Petrom S.A. as the owner and Confind S.A. as the EPCC contractor have ordered six compressor packages (2 x Ariel JGK4 & 4 x Ariel JGR2 compressors) from Euro Gas Systems in order to modernize and finalize the Compressor stations 2 Merisani and 1 Valcele. Design engineering has accorded special attention for safety, optimized operation, energy efficiency, low operation costs; and considered to use Low Harmonics VSDs, SIL2 control panels with redundant PLCs & Ex-i instrumentation.
